The Stalingrad Corps Air Defense, was formed for cover of region Stalingrad from impacts of German aircraft in June, 1942. On the moment of forming represented rather impressive force. The anti-aircraft regiments, air-defence armoured train, searchligth battalions, separate companies VNOS, and also 102nd Fighting Division (armed I-16) entered in a structure of Corps. On arms there were more 500 air-defence guns of various calibre. The units air-defence artillery were are shared on 7 sectors. In each sector there was commander, which should introduce actions air-defence artillery on the segment. 

To the moment of an output German troops to city and storm Stalingrad, the air defenses were attracted for deposition of impacts on ground targets and 62nd Army were soon given in subordination to units. Actually by October, 1942 Stalingrad Corps Air Defense covered only railway Stalingrad - Pallasovka flak-artillery group in a structure 6 armoured trains.
The personal structure of Air Defence Corps on 63 % was made up with the mobilized girl. Which had no what preparing and on plan of a command should study on place. The remaining personal structure was typed from the former soldier and officers the received wounds and recognized medical boards is limited suitable for front service. The low fighting capability of an Air Defence Corps, despite of mass heroism, has resulted in the large losses of personal structure in time Stalingrad battle. The obvious Corps of fighting capability Corps has shown German airraid of August 23, 1942. That day the city was covered with 326 air-defence guns.
For day air-defence artillery Corps was shot doun 3 German bombers, and the own losses have made 47 %.
In the end Stalingrad battle of a unit Corps have received replenishment and were attracted for air blockade of the surrounded German troops. After ending battle Stalingrad Corps Air Defense continued to execute the problems on cover of region a Stalingrad from German aircraft. The Stalingrad Corps Air Defense was disbanded in April, 1944.
